This family owned renovated hotel is located in Mariazell’s center, front of the famous Mariazell Basilica, only 100 meters from the Bürgeralpe elevator.
We have Hungarian and International cuisine.

Legends say that in 1157 a monk called Otker went from a nearby village, Aflenz to build a new hermitage. He brought a Mary statue with him to the middle of the forest, where he put the statue and he built a hut for himself. The people who lived in the mountains heard about the statue and they began pilgrimages to the forest, later they began organizing farewell marches. They made resolutions and their wishes came true. King Louis I of Hungary was the one who grounded Mariazell’s extent. In 1378 being grateful over the triumph what he gained over the Turks, he had built a huge and wonderful church, from what parts still exist, for example the gothic tower. The Mariazell church for us Hungarians is important because Joseph Mindszenty (1892-1975) archbishop of Esztergom, Prince-primate, bishop of Veszprém (from 1944), spent his last few years here. He was arrested and convicted for life by the Hungarian radical governing party, called the “nyilasok”, because of political reasons (1949). In the 1956 revolution he had a political role therefore he spent the 1956-1971 period in the USA at the Hungarian Embassy as a refugee. After these events he escaped to Mariazell, where he spent his days in peace until his death. 

Mariazell is one center of winter sports and holiday resorts, with lot of entertainment opportunities and it is full of hotels, restaurants and cafés. The settlement has many various well-maintained slopes, which are different difficulties so they are ideal for the whole family’s winter sports demands. During the whole winter season, snow is provided due to snow cannons. The ski resort has many entertainment facilities, such as: swimming pool, sauna, fitness room, ice-skating and toboggan run, horse surfing and ice fishing. Marvelous family ski resort while it has many modern lifts and elevators.
